New Stuff...
New City
Last time I changed this page, the server location was new. Now, my location is new. I have moved to Santa Barbara due to an employment opportunity that I just couldn't pass up. It doesn't mean that I've lost interest in San Diego's coffeehouses and music, however. In fact, I'm more determined than ever to keep this site going and as up-to-date as possible. But I'll need help. If you're an acoustic musician...I NEED YOUR BIOS AND SCHEDULES!
In case you didn't notice, I was, in fact, shouting. PLEASE email your bios and/or schedules to me at hervey@cris.com. I'll need to know your (group's) name (and a brief description wouldn't hurt, either), the name of the venu, the address, the phone number, what time you're playing and if there's a cover charge.
If you're a coffeehouse, send me your vital statistics. And don't forget to include whether or not you feature live music and, if possible, which nights.
New Coffeehouses
There are a couple of new coffeehouses to the list. Thomas Paine Coffeehouse has taken over the location of the WikiUp in North Park. The WikiUp was a longtime promoter of San Diego music and other art genres, and it looks like Thomas Paine is going to carry on in that tradition.Another newcomer to the list is Lestat's. This coffeehouse is in the location which was once home to Java De Paradigm and is hosting local music, as well.
Be sure to stop in and say "hey," grab some goodies and enjoy their sponsorship of local music!
This isn't exactly new, anymore, but I couldn't bear to take it down yet...
Thanks, SDAM! I would like to offer my heartfelt appreciation to the generous folks at The San Diego Area Music Pages for letting String Beans ride piggy-back on the good thing they've got going. They have been kind enough to donate some server space and have been promoting String Beans on their site for quite some time, as well. Be sure to check out SDAM, especially all you starving artists/bands looking for a way to get yourselves on the Web - for free, no less!
Calling All Coffeehouses and Musicians!
I am now extending an open invitation for acoustic musicians and coffeehouse owners to contact me about getting up on the page. If you're not on the lists that I have here, please send me a note and I'll put your name on one of them (hopefully the correct one).Have a Favorite Coffeehouse Not Listed Here?
If you have a favorite coffeehouse that isn't on the String Beans list, let me know about it. I need to know the address, the phone number and whether or not they sponsor local music. Thanks! Thanks for coming and enjoy the site!
