Why ``Performing Songwriter"?
I prefer to use the term ``performing songwriter" as opposed to ``singer/songwriter." I guess that latter one is too cliché, or something, and seems to bring to mind images of really groovy sixties or seventies people. Also, performing songwriter is a better description in that it emphasizes the songwriter part and clarifies it with the idea that I perform my songs. And furthermore, it's important for me to think of myself as a guitarist (even if nobody else does). Anyway, that's my story. Am I being too picky? Maybe. I'm glad they came up with a new term, though.
