  SOA (State of the Album)

  Since I last updated this section, not much has happened. In fact, the project has gone backward a couple of steps. I had recorded tracks for about three songs, and all seemed to be going well. Then, I noticed this horrible droning hum. Now, I know that not all of you are recording engineers, so let me just say that a droning hum is not (usually) the sort of thing you want on an album. What this means is that I will have to start over, but I haven't abandoned the project completely. The current plan is to use my Yamaha MT120 - a four-track cassette recorder - to record most of the tracks at home. Then I'll take them in and add the vocals in a real studio, one with decent vocal mics. But I don't know when, exactly, I'll get to record. I'll keep you posted.
