For those of you who missed the festivities, mark this Friday as the date to watch the 7th Annual San Diego Music Awards on TV. That's right, the awards show that was held on October 26 at SDSU, will air on Cox Channel 4 (the Padres Station) Friday, November 21 at 8 p.m. The 90-minute awards presentation features live performances from Unwritten Law, G-Spot, Steve Poltz (Rugburns), Tim Flannery Band, Common Sense, Jim Earp, The Shambles, Harold Whaley and Earl Thomas. Tune in and support this most worthwhile event, which raised over $15,000 for Elementary Music Programs in San Diego schools. New Music: The Local Fix, the Sunday evening local music show on 92.5 The Flash has produced a 16-song compilation in conjunction with Music Talent Search 2000 at the Califormula Radio Group. The Local Fix CD will be released on November 28 and features tracks from The Jolly Llamas, Skanic, Skunk Drunk, Ecnalab, The Good China, Earl's Son, Convoy, Sidecar Elray, Amber Roy, Kirn County, Sauce, Anadara, Suntower, The Blisters and Calman Hart. The CD release party will be held on November 28 at 'Canes... Look for a new CD from Earl Thomas in December. The disc was recorded at Memphis Brothers Recording Studios in Solana Beach. Subtle, the new San Diego-based group featuring Virtually Music's Michael Breen, debuted at the Casbah on November 4. This Thursday, November 20, the group will perform with Save Ferris in front of an expected crowd of 6,500 people at the USC campus in Los Angeles.
