PAST EVENTS Below...

SAM GOODY'S, Escondido, CA
This was the final nail in the coffin for our little drummer boy. (See below entry) Didn't show up for a gig...the ultimate sin...no phone call, no nothing, until Tuesday...and he wanted to talk. Woh! Like nothing ever happened! Anyway, the rest of theMatter made these two Sunday shows happen today as acoustic sets.
December 8, 1996, at 3pm and 6pm

TA KIL YAZ, Oceanside, CA
Well...this was the gig that got our new IN drummer fresh OUT. He threw a fit before the last song was even over. Finally, up to speed after two months of working with the guy and he blows it. It was a lousy gig anyway. Just to complete the dharma we were messing with, Karl's bass amp was fried by a sound guy, two of Todd's E-strings failed back to back (same string, consecutive songs), and the ex-drummer was draaaagging all night cuz he just wasn't happy all of a sudden...says he couldn't hear us...Oh yeah, and guess what? Management here wouldn't even let us bring in our own water or gatorade. Something about the ATF and code violations. Please! We really don't need this shit! We should of just said Bye! right then. It was all pretty lame...DIN kicked ass though. I highly recommend seeing them live soon.

CARLSBAD VILLAGE THEATRE, Carlsbad, CA
New drummer J. is IN, new lead guitarist Todd Everett is right ON, original bassist Karl Drews is staggeringly potent, and Tedd is now vocals and some rhythm or synth guitar and it all sounds bitchin'! We're currently getting everyone up to speed (we shall pray for speed) and up to the 7 new songs we've been working. And ready for a string of acoustic sets throughout San Diego County retail locations. And on the activities list otherwise we include: new feedback series web pages; new jammin showcase set for area clubs starting early December; new promo campaign at the listening centers in San Diego Sam Goody locations featuring article about the Without Ruth tale on display now; album is in 16 stores locally plus nine of the Music Trader locations; a review in SLAMM Magazine in December 18 issue; and finally, we sent off four songs for an ASCAP/DISNEY Musical Theatre Workshop slated for January...been busy...can't wait to get to show y'all...
Through November.

TA KIL YAZ, Oceanside, CA
It's a Benefit for Christian--she's in a coma from a BAD accident. It's our first gig night with drummer Kevin Coburn. He's had one night of practice...it was a night of graceful exit attempts...
September 19, 1996, at 9:45pm with Sauce to finish

Mr. Kevin Coburn is helping us through the demo and some promised gigs. We have begun our new search.

Gotta hold of a Thursday night here, and it's the first gig without keyboardist Ed and with new guitarist Todd. We pulled it off pretty well and had a damn good practice with the huge unassembled crowd...
August 29, 1996, after Star 69, Little Jimmies, and b4 Mention (11:00pm)

NEW RENAISSANCE STUDIOS, Vista, CA
Tedd has been busy writing again and since the shows are proving worthy with our audience, we're going to focus on the next album slated for December finish. But we're still working a North County/San Diego circuit for regular and/or nice weekend gigs...
August thru November 96

ANNUAL BBQ, John Collings, CA
This San Diego reviewer saw us at the first Dream Street gig. This was cool! We headlined his backyard and were billed as one of North County's finest live bands! Lots of media and music types got to check us out. IDK about that, but huge kudos must go to Klownfish, an excellent tight unit of rappin soulful four funkateers, and Ronnie Lane and the Texas Twisters, (no, it wasn't Pete Townshend's buddy).
20 July, 1996, shows start at 2:00pm

DREAM STREET, Ocean Beach, CA
Can you believe it? A fine original venue has backpedaled bigtime since announcing they were switching to covers only format! Our gig was one in the first week of a two month schedule wipe! Then two weeks later they said well, what we meant to say was...etal...we'll go back, sometime, but we were really looking forward to this one...all Tedd's relatives were in town since Tedd married Jill the night before, July 5th...Babe-age!
6 July, 1996, was at 11:00pm
